Pre-Commissioning,
Commissioning & Start-up
Rogue Technical Services provides full-scope E&I pre-commissioning and commissioning services — engaging early in the construction phase to ensure all systems, documentation, and deliverables are ready for a clean, on-schedule start-up.
What We Do
Rogue Technical Services integrates with your project team during the early construction phase to make sure all E&I deliverables, documentation, and system prerequisites are in place before commissioning execution begins. As construction progresses, the interface between field installation and commissioning becomes increasingly critical — our team manages that handoff so that completions of priority systems happen on time and without rework.
We work within your project's completions framework and provide documentation packages that meet engineering and operations handover requirements — every punch list item tracked, every loop checked, every turnover binder built to spec.
Pre-Commissioning Scope
During the early construction phase, Rogue ensures all E&I deliverables required for commissioning execution are verified and in place. Our pre-comm team coordinates directly with construction and project management to track installation progress, identify punch items early, and protect the commissioning schedule. As construction advances, our involvement increases — so the transition to live commissioning is clean, controlled, and on time.
Activities Include
- Establishment of E&I completions tracking processes and instrument index verification
- Field walk-downs against approved P&IDs, data sheets, and installation drawings
- Instrument installation verification — tagging, mounting, conduit entry, and accessibility per project specification
- Cable tray, conduit routing, and field wiring inspection per NEC and project standards
- Punch list development — A/B item categorization, responsible party assignment, and status tracking
- Construction-to-commissioning interface coordination for critical early systems
- Pre-energization inspection of MCC, switchgear, and distribution panels
- Hazardous area equipment verification — Class/Division and Zone classification compliance
- Pre-commissioning documentation package assembly for QC and engineering review
Commissioning & Start-up Scope
Once pre-commissioning is complete and systems are cleared for energization, Rogue executes full commissioning scope — loop by loop, system by system. We coordinate directly with your operations and engineering teams through start-up and final handover.
Activities Include
- Instrument loop checks and calibration verification
- MCC, switchgear, and motor control energization
- Functional logic testing for PLC/DCS/SIS systems
- Cause & effect testing against approved C&E matrices
- Valve stroke testing and actuator calibration
- Field device commissioning — transmitters, analyzers, flow meters
- Punch list tracking and closeout through start-up
- Completions package documentation for operations handover
